Narrated Muhammad ibn Muslim
Abu Ja'far [Imam Muhammad al-Baqir] said: "A man from Hudhayl used to insult the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). When word of it reached the Prophet (ﷺ), he said: 'Who will take care of this man?' Two men of the Ansar stood up and said: 'We will, O Messenger of Allah.' They set out until they reached Araba and asked about him. They found him going out to meet his flock. He said: 'Who are you two, and what are your names?' They said to him: 'Are you so-and-so, son of so-and-so?' He said: 'Yes.' So they dismounted and struck off his head." Muhammad ibn Muslim said: I said to Abu Ja'far: "What if a man insulted the Prophet (ﷺ) today: should he be killed?" He said: "If you do not fear for yourself, kill him."
